Austria is widely known for its mountains and its people skiing and snowboarding on it. What would not come in mind for most people thinking about Austria is surfing. Though this country has no ocean, the surf community is thriving. One of these wave enthusiasts is Paul Mittermeier, a landlocked surfboard shaper. Since he surfed his first wave, he fell in love with the sport. Wanting his own board, made him shape his first one. Out of the passion for surfing he founded his company Paulsen Surf Garage where he makes unique boards for every customers needs. Being aware of the environmental impact surfboards have, he sources his materials locally, uses eco friendly epoxy resins, recycling and upcycling as much as possible and building his boards long lasting.
